Feast day of Christ the King, King of the Universe

This Sunday will mark the last week of liturgical year 2019. It is the feast day of Christ the King, King of the Universe. Next Sunday will open Advent and it starts the new liturgical year of 2020.

Why the liturgical year ends with Christ the King, King of the Universe day? We need to think from what happens at the end of life.

The last thing of life is called death. When people die, they go through judgement to eternal life. Some go to Heaven, some go to hell, some fell through purgatory. People like to talk about the end of the world, but what we really have to think is not the end of the world, but the judgement we will get after death. Everything material will wear out eventually. We all die eventually, hoping to die well. Jesus wants us to prepare, because the most fun part of life comes after we die, that is, judgment on us.

A man, who skydived found out his parachute didn’t open, either the emergency parachute. He had only few minutes before he hit the ground, and experienced all his past passing in front of his eyes in that short time. Thanks to God’s help, he fell on to high piles of hay bales and survived, was able to testimony what he had experienced in the sky.

Pope Benedict said, Jesus is going to ask us, “Do you want to come with us?”

Articulate your desire, think about it many times, say it over and over. We also have desire of eternal life in a prayer in the mass.

We were given lives with all differences, but when we die to live forever, we will be with Jesus our Lord together. Thus, our mission is to get people to heaven, help them to voice hell. 

Q: When was Christ made to King? When did he become one?

He ascended into heaven, and seated at the right side of the Father, to be crowned, but he was king before then. Jesus, the sone of God, became a son of man, that’s when he became the king. He became King when he was conceived by the holy Spirit to the womb of Virgin Mary. He was already then the prince of peace, because he became just a mere man.

Q: When did Jesus become King? A: When he was conceived.

Q: Why did Jesus die?  A: To take away our sins. 

Q: Why did he live? 

“Mark 1, 15 This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel”

A: Jesus lived for 33 years to establish his kingdom here among us. Kingdom of God is here, because he is here. Kingdom of God is among you.

Q: Where is Jesus’s kingdom?

A: Where Jesus is. He ascended into Heaven in order to received the crown but his kingdom was already here.

Jesus came first as a little baby in Bethlehem. 1st coming was humble. He was obedient to God, which lead hime to the cross, which lead hime to exultation, resurrection, and ascension to Heaven.

On the 1st coming, Jesus established his church. Kingdom of God is the church, here.

Matthew 16,16 Simon Peter said in reply, “ You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus said to him in reply, “ Blessed are you, Simon son of Joan. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. 18 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Messiah.

Peter became the steward of Jesus, because Jesus is going to go away. keys about forgiveness of sins and about teaching the truth were hold by Peter. The disciples got to preach the gospel, baptize until the end or 2nd coming of Jesus.

He is coming back as the king of whole universe. He is not coming back humble, but triumphantly. He will come back on clouds, with all his angels and saints on the last day. You will know because it won’t be mystery. He will come back to you wherever you will be, and it will become obvious to everyone because it will be big and triumphantly from everyone’s perspective.

He will have the final judgement, to separate goats from the sheep. All this world will pass away. After the judgement, those who will go with him will live with him in Heaven. Wedding feast in Heaven of Jesus to church.

God’s kingdom embraces all, not exclusive, not political. Pope’s main job is leading all in there world spiritually.

Q: When was the church born?

A: Fromm the open side of Jesus’s chest, when his blood water come out from there. The church is a spiritual kingdom. U. S. president stays as a president for 4-8 years and we don’t attached to him spiritually. But to the king of kingdom of God, we all attached spiritually forever.
