Good
morning everyone,
Today
marks the beginning of National Vocation Awareness Week in the church.
Not
just here, but all of planet earth. In our tradition, our life choices are
simple;
Marriage,
Religious life, or a Life of holiness. So how do we know what we’re supposed to
do?
Pope
Francis, who is a Jesuit and inspired by St. Ignatius, makes it simple for us.
This
one tip will help guide you the rest of your life. The tip is this – pay
attention to your life. More specifically,
pay attention to your imagination,
to what you daydream about. For Ignatius, our imagination is the pathway to
learning what we truly desire in life, and it is the gateway to hearing God’s
voice.
But,
in order to do this, we need to give ourselves the space and time to allow our
imagination to run wild. This is
what praying looks like. So, this week, you’re
being invited to pray, really pray by paying attention to the patterns of your
imagination, and therefore you will find God and God will find you.
This
is an important campaign in the life of the church. So please take time to participate.
The
Vocation team will be providing more tips and resources in the lobby today.
To
close, here’s a brief video.
